2011 Bakbakan 11-Stag Derby in Record Run

With 1,159 entries already registered and competed and with still 52 local and 8 national eliminations to go, the 2011 Bakbakan National 11-Stag Derby (Oct. 3 – Dec. 2, 2011 in various cockpits nationwide) hosted by the 32-member associations National Federation of Gamefowl Breeders is on the right track to surpass its 2010 record onto a historic field of 4,000 participants.

Sponsored by Thunderbird Enertone – the first ready-mixed maintenance formula and Romoxtyl – tatayo ang manok mo, derby format is as follows : 3 stag elimination – 2 points to qualify ; 4 stag semi finals – 5 points to qualify for the finals ; 4 stag finals – all with 5, 5.5 and 6 pts. to fight in assigned regional finals, while all with 6.5 and 7 points face each other in the last national finals.

At stake is a whopping guaranteed cash prize of P40 million for a low entry fee of P15,000, minimum bet is P 5,500 in all the eliminations, semis and regional finals, but  P 11,000 in all national finals.

The P40,000,000 prize purse will be distributed as follows Champion – P 22,000,000; Runner Up – P 500,000; Any 10 Points – P 2,000,000; Any 9 Points – P 3,000,000; Any 8 Points – P 5,000,000; Straight 7 in Semis – P 2,000,000.
Straight 3 in Elims – P 5,000,000; Champion Handler – P 350,000 and Champion Gaffer – P 150,000.

In excess of the guaranteed prize, less 10 % plazada, the difference will be distributed as follows: 50% member association, 25% charity, 25% NFGB.

Only BAKBAKAN 2011-banded stags will be accepted. Legbanding is from 6am-9am on the derby day.
